Monaco Grand Prix 2015 Hotels/Transit

Hi,

I'm trying to find suitable hotel for my family of 3 (Single mom, 1 x 20 year old son and 14 year son) for the following dates:

Check In - 23 May 2015
Check Out - 26 May 2015

4 or 5 Star, Beach, Luxury, hotel budget £2000 max. The catch, it must be easily commutable on race day Sunday, 24 May 2015. As I've only ever been to Paris, I've tried google maps and directions trying to choose the "Transit" option but it keeps coming up as "greyed out"/i.e. cannot select that option, which I assume means I'd have to either get a private hire or drive myself, I'd rather hop on a train/bus.

Anyone who knows Cannes/Nice/Monaco fairly well and has hints and tips, please help me.

Many thanks

  • Stayed in Nice, when I went to the Monaco GP. Hopped on the train to Monte Carlo. Very crowded but quick & easy.

Can't help with hotels as stayed in friends apartment.

Hi, thanks for that. From looking on trip advisor etc. I can see it is doable, but "the computer/google says no":eek:

I've asked the same question on there, hoping someone comes along, thanks nonetheless.

It's easy peasy, just jump on the train at Nice, jump off at Monaco and follow the crowd. It's only a 15 min-ish train ride.

Follow this link to give you and idea of train times and ticket prices, but it's just as easy to buy once you get there.

Hotels, it might be a bit late, I'd try looking on booking.com or hotels.com to see what's still available.

  • As PeachyPrice says super easy, we just bought our tickets a couple of days before, to save time on race day. Just be prepared to play sardines!!!!
