Court order to refund rent and deposit

I was successful in court in claiming my deposit and half a months rent back off my ex landlord. He did not attend court therefore it went in my favour.
He did not pay within the 14 days given so I instructed bailiffs via the court.
He has now applied for an application for the court to reconsider as he didn't attend court "due to an oversight due to a busy period in work"
Is this a legitimate reason for not attending court?
Is there a chance that the court may want to review the case?
I'm a busy working mum of three working a 37.5hr week and I attended the original hearing.

Since the defendant didn't get a chance to defend its quite possible the application will be accepted.
If the Defendant does not have a actual defence then the judge won't be impressed.
Sounds like the case could drag on some time yet, take it you used the countycourt bailiffs? Next time you should have transferred the case to the highcourt and used an HCEO. Could have executed the live writ, your ex landlord then would have been more likely to forced to pay up.0
