I have one near me, it's very good food wise but is very popular with large groups of rowdy diners. It's a shame, it's a good concept spoilt by the clientele.
Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear
I went for the lunch time so wasn't so busy it was only £8 each and eat as much as you can . But for the price i thought it was excellent. Its a bit like a work canteen and not somewhere i want to go regularly but every 2/3 months i would do.
At night it is heaving so like you said i bet its rowdy in there then.
But the Reading one is good. The food is tasty and lots of it.maybe a lot to do with it is the staff with how the food is.
Maybe the big boss should do a "Under cover boss program "
But my favourite is Toby restaurants as i could eat there all the time but like i wrote before Cosmo i could do every few months lunch time. Be cheaper than a Big Mac and that awful Cola
I've been going to Cosmo two or three times a year for several years (various branches). I've generally found them to be reasonably good, certainly as good or better than any other "all you can eat" buffet place I've been to. I'd agree they can be busy though - I went to the Reading one last month and it was rammed.

Cold, bland, little choice and unappetising ( well during lunchtime visit )
Try the reviews on trip advisor.
Good idea and started off very well but shortly went downhill.
