Miele Cat and Dog Vacuum Cleaner

Options
We have a Dyson vacuum which is rubbish for picking up, in particular, dog hair so we borrowed a Miele Cat and Dog 2000w from a family member which is absolutely fantastic. So we want to buy one.

BUT the 2000w is not sold anymore due to EU regulations. We can get a 1600w or a 1200w (which Miele say has the power of the 2000w).

I just wondered if anyone had the 1200w which is apparently as good as the 2000w, and could tell me their thoughts?

But shops can still sell the Miele you want if they had it in stock before the new <stupid > rules came in. Maybe a shop has still got one in stock.

    Is this it

Wow huge price as well .Wouldnt pay that price for it even though i think Miele are the best make for appliances
  • Wow, Amazon have shoved that price up since the EU thing came in! It's where I got mine from but I paid half that 2 years ago!

I just looked online more and other places sell it £200 cheaper.
Its not Amazon its sellers on Amazon ripping people off.

But they are all out of stock.Woolworth and Very had it for £299
Robert Dyas had it for £199 Click

I am now on a mission to find it still cheap and i dont need one!

I can't find anywhere which stocks it, hasn't hiked the price up and will deliver offshore, hence why I'm looking at the new model.

The RRP for the current models is £270 which im happy to pay, it's expensive but frankly it's better than having dog hair permanently stuck in the carpet and a Hoover which won't deal with it - especially as we both suffer from allergies (which are managed perfectly fine by hoovering regularly with an effective appliance).

Can anyone help with whether the 1200w does a decent job? It's currently £219.99 in Currys which is a good deal, but I'll pay the extra £50 for the 1600w if the 1200w isn't up to scratch.

Has John Lewis got one on display ? They might let u try that in the shop.I would take in a bit of carpet smothered in pet hair and see if it picks it all up.My friend has the upright Miele for dogs and cats and that was really good.
I wouldnt get any of those from ebay as most of them are just stock pictures and dont trust those sellers. But you wasnt going to get one from there anyway.
Good luck on getting one you want.

We don't have a John Lewis, the nearest one is a boat ride away. I've emailed Miele and asked which model they recommend for a hairy home.

Thanks for your help anyway - and everyone else for theirs too.

I thought of this thread as I just walked passed my local Euronics store - they had the Miele 2200w Aller vacuum cleaner in the window for £249 and their website says they have the 2000w cat and dog too.

Just stupid that the online Euronics does not sell Miele yet the shops do.
