Does anybody know how many hours and how much you can earn before it effects tax credits?

I'm not sure what you're asking.
Child tax credits are unaffected by hours worked, and entitlement to child tax credits goes all the way up to about £53,000pa.
You can only get working tax credits if you're working 30 hours and are over 25, unless you're a parent, in which case it's 16 hours without an age limit. If you're earning more than about £13,000 you won't get any, but that's a very rough figure.
