transfer times for stocks+shares ISA?

Hi,


Can anybody advise if the 30 day window for transfer of stocks and share ISA's is actually just a guide or a legal time frame?
I requested such a transfer early in September and November has still not seen a completion, even though there is nothing complicated with the portfolio (one share type, blue chip British company).
The fault seems to be with the transferring out company and they have admitted several weeks back that this has fallen short of their standards, but still has not been resolved.
Before I contact the ombudsman I thought I would ask if this a common problem.

Its a guideline.

There are several very long threads detailing delays in S&S transfers. Some have taken more than 7 months :eek:.

I have done a few recently shortest c4 months longest has taken 8 months and isn't yet complete - now have complaints with FOS.

All I can recommend is keep chasing, keep notes of who you have spoken to when and chase every time they miss deadlines.

Most S&S transfers (cash transfer) take no more than a week. If you use the re-registration method, it can take months depending on the fund house/registrar.

Before I contact the ombudsman I thought I would ask if this a common problem.

You cant use the ombudsman without complaining to the company first.
