Afternoon all,
Just had to rush to get the washing in as it's started to rain
Been and done the Aldi shop, was surprisingly busy this morning, maybe there are lots of bonfire parties planned for tonight.
DH off to football in a while. I've been sorting out stuff, you know the bits that don't really have a home but you keep them for years until they eventually go to the charity shop or the bin!!
Out for a meal tonight at the 2 for 1, taking DS2 and his girlfriend.
Happy Saturday all0 -
Afternoon all,
ive been a busy bee this morning. Out the door food shopping at 8.30 am. The parking at our local Aldi is dreadful, plus the fact when we usually go there are always things I haven't been able to get because there is no stock on the shelves. 10 O'clock I was at the hospital for a blood test. Ouch she's really hurt my arm. Had the usual problems trying to drain me of blood and I now have a very sore arm.
Almost in the Christmas spirit.... Ive bought a few Christmas cards. At least I don't have to fight with the tree this year.:D
Talking about Christmas, the kids are all having vouchers but I am mithering over what to get my Mom. She feels the cold and I wanted to buy her this because she is always cold but I'm not sure the carers will think to put it on her.
They cover her legs with blankets but her top half is still cold. I'm not sure they would put it on her though when she is cold. I keep putting her gloves on her as her hands are always so cold and hoped the carers would take the hint but I notice the gloves have now gone walkabout. Talking about things going walkabout. I'm sure Mom was wearing someone elses top when I went to see her the other day.
Anyway, I'm rattling..... have a good afternoon/evening all of you. For those of you going to bonfires this evening. I hope you don't get too wet.:(

Raining like mad today so have put the washing on the pulley in the utility.
Tidied up DH's wardrobe and chest of drawers so socks, undies. pyjamas and jumpers are now all sorted out and folded and I can find stuff. Realised he could do with more PJs so got the bus to Tossco and bought a couple of new pairs as well as some socks for me and a new book may have followed me homeStood in a massive puddle so glad to get home and dry.
Middle dd has gone off for oldest's hen night in Oxford so will see her tomorrrow. Me and other of DDs are picking at snacks as it is just the two of us eating. DH is having energy drinks as it hurts to eat.
The last treatment session is on Monday so then we can concentrate on him resting and hopefully getting his appetite back eventually.
Panic over some of the bridesmaid's dresses as they do not fit so looks like a quick trip to dept stores next week. Fingers crossed they find something they like and is suitable.
Defrosting pork cheeks from freezer for tomorrow's lunch which will be cooked in cast iron casserole slowly so it is tender with green veg etc.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Please be aware in a dementia environment, ownership has no boundaries. The carers do try but I know the "inmates" believe everything to be available to them, and share and share alike, so I would not spend a fortune on anything to go into the home. Glasses, hearing-aids, slippers, etc., constantly go walkies.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
If you can possibly get it into the carers' noggins to put it on your mum, I can definitely recommend these type of garments. I have two - one in sensible Scottish wool that I use indoors in chilly evenings as it's easier for my to slip on and off than a cardi, and a pale blue one in Mohair which I use outdoors - I wore it for my visit to the Consultant the other day so as not to have to faff about struggling out of a jacket for him to examine my hands and forearms. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
