Hotmail fails to sync on my Google Nexus (1st gen)

Any clever techies know why my Google Nexus 7inch tablet now fails to sync my hotmail emails?

Used to work before but now I dont see any hotmail emails appearing in my inbox

I can send an email using the tablet through my hotmail account but it doesnt receive it even though settings have push mail and sync enabled

If I log onto hotmail using the webmail the emails appear so seems like i can send but cant receive on ,my tablet (I hope this makes sense)

Checked all standard settings in tablet for mail set up and all relevant options are ticked set up correctly

Any clues whats going on here?

Is it a App for Hotmail ? If it is i would uninstall it switch nexus off and install again

Its not a 3rd party app but was set up as part of the apps that came preinstalled with the Nexus. I have made sure sync is turned on under settings so cant be that

I'd delete the account (on the Nexus) and add it again making sure you choose 'Exchange' as the account type.
