Currently have BT line rental(12 mth contract so free weekend/eve calls) and broadband with sky which is free until end of November(transferree from o2)
I use 1899 override service a lot so only paying minimum call charges.
However now is decision time. I have read that broadband only deals are expensive and sky have made no contact yet,but i assume broadband only will be expensive from sky.
I may have to go to another isp which includes broadband/line rental i suppose(would ideally prefer to stay with bt).....my question is can someone tell me if i went to another company for line rental can i still use an override service like 1899/18866 as i find that most of my bill is line rental only hence why i am happy to stay with bt..
Thanks in advance for any helpful replies

Phone Sky but co through to cancellations. Tell them you have your line rental with BT and Broadband with them. Tell them you would like to cancel the Broadband as you are looking for a better deal (if you need a MAC to leave - ask for it). They will then start giving you some offers.
Now, you need to make sure you know what is available in your area and the rough costs (easiest way to do this is through Broadband Choices... Sky use software provided by them to check too!). Don't tell them what offers you have found or name any companies as you don't want to give them any control.
Have a notepad handy and write down what they offer you. After each offer simply say 'That's not really good enough - anything better?'
Write that offer down and repeat.
After all offers are exhausted and there is one you think is best value - accept it. I would wager my hat that you will get a better deal this way than anything advertised elsewhere.0 -
If this was me, I'd play both providers off each other and settle for a package of telephone and broadband from whoever came up with the best deal.
It will definitely be cheaper to have both services from one provider and it really doesn't matter which company (Sky or BT) you have to cancel to achieve this.0 -
Thank you so far for your responses.
Does anybody know if i could use an override service with another line rental provider apart from bt?
Thanks0 -

As I said, your cheapest option would be to choose a package of telephone and broadband rather than either individually. It really doesn't matter which company you choose.0
