Understanding my current electricity set up

In theory if I want all other rooms warmer I have to have the temp set to higher in the living room. Luckily it's normal to want the living room at a higher temp.0

Check around the insides of your window openings for the first signs, it is not easy to get rid of once it takes hold.0 -
If you've got individual room thermostats, how do they control the heating in each room? Are they connected to the manifold?
I've got a heatpump and underfloor heating and each room has it's own programmable thermostat.
Each stat controls the heating zones by activating actuators on the manifold which control the water flow through the zones and turn the heatpump on & off as well.
Any one of the stats, when calling for heat, will cause the heatpump to operate as well as opening the zone valves. We can therefore heat each zone independently to different temperatures at different times of the day.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
I wasn't going to block all the trickle vents. Are you suggesting I should really leave them all open? Or trial and check for moisture levels.
I can increase decrease temps in each room but there is only one timer and that's in the living room. Only when there is demand during the times in the living does the heat pump start working. So if it never has demand due to temps achieved I get nothing flowing to other rooms even if temps are not met. The engineer said I could set them all to 30 and assuming the living room had no demand they would never get there. There are valves for each room. It's a heat pump and UF heating as well. The engineer said their company had bided for the works in the flats where I live and said they wouldn't have installed so many of these thermostats as it's overkill. The original fitters no longer get any work from the landlord.0 -
The problem is that the regulations require controls for each room whether they are sensible or not.
Ideally the main stat should be in a cooler part of the house such as the hall so that the room stats can control their own room temperaturesNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Depends how much moisture you introduce to the building, if dry clothes in there or you have a lot of people there then they can create a lot of moisture.0 -
No problem trialling it, just be vigilant. You may find you can close some and moisture will not be a problem.

I will give a try but yes I do dry my clothes in doors. I could try outside but the balcony is well protected from most of the wind. White duct tape on order. I'll see how it goes0
