Buywise of Banbury anyone?

I need to buy an appliance, and Buywise of Babury are coming up with very competitive prices. Online reviews of them as a company seem very good, but I'm a cynic at heart, so I'm wondering if any of the good folk on here have any experience of dealing with them. Do they have an actual shop too, or are they an internet only retailer? (I'm also thinking possibly of using them as leverage on a John Lewis price match, if they have a physical, 'shop where you can buy stuff on the day' presence, simply because I know JL)

Many thanks for any information.

Hi, I live near Banbury. Buywise is a very well known shop here, before the likes of currys etc came to town (and before the internet) it was the only place to buy appliances. I have personally used them last year or so to buy a fridge wuth no problems.
They do their own deliveries round here, I don't know what they do for out of area.
So, if the price is right then there is no reason not to.

  • I also live near Banbury and have used Buywise on many occasions. They're a really good local company and I've recommended them to lots of friends over the years.

Thank for this. They very nearly got the order; they certainly had the best price on one of the two dishwashers that were my strongest contenders. Delivery price was a little expensive (understandably so; we're in Devon!) but they still ended up £50 cheaper than John Lewis, so that formed the basis of a 'price match' request I put in to JL. I did speak to a very nice man at Buywise this morning to see if they could do anything to reduce the price and tempt me away from JL, but they couldn't. I'll definitely think about using them in the future.
