Santander will want a copy of the Experian credit file showing the entry is no longer visible.

You should obtain this as soon as you are sure the debt collector has done what it said and the file is clean.

Do you know how long it will take the debt collector to remove it once it's confirmed?

    Okay thanks anyway.

This whole process of house buying is the worst stress ever! If we ever get to actually buy a house I can guarantee we will never be doing it again unless it's cash outright!

Contract received 3 days ago from the Solicitor and land registry.

Confirmed they have applied for all other searches and advised we can't now proceed till our offer is in place from the lender :(

Received the letter today from the bailiffs confirming the debt isn't the father I'm laws and they will remove it from his credit file. Will take this letter to the Mortgage Advisor on Monday. He will then send it to the Underwritter.

Does anyone think this sounds hopeful?

Handed the letter in today to the MA.

Let's hope it's a positive answer from the Underwritter.

Does anyone know how long it may take for the Underwritter to get back to us please?

    Hi just a quick update...

The Santander MA called on sat and advised the Underwriter has asked for partners bank statements (not FIL as it's his bank they are getting the mortgage with.)

So seems like they have accepted the letter maybe?

Does this seem anymore closer to getting an offer?

I wanted to let you all know that the mortgage advisor called today to advise they had been given an offer and they need to go into the bank tomorrow at 9am to sign some documents then they can instruct the valuation.

We're both over the moon, although it has taken 4 weeks!!!
