Avoid Pledge Electronics Wipes on your TV

I used these on my TV screen and they have left smeary streaks. I sent them an email asking for my money back, and they asked me if I had read my TV handbook before using them. I said I had and now they want to know the make and model of my TV. I did a bit of googling and it seems that you should only ever clean a TV screen with a microfibre cloth. So Pledge are selling wipes with a big pic of a TV on the packet that should NEVER be used on TV screens. :rotfl:

The amount of time it has taken for them to email you back and forth has probably cost more in staff wage costs that it would have done to give you your money back for the wipes (what, around £2?)

Is it possible that they clean the TV just fine - everywhere except the screen? I've used furniture polish on the plastic before, and it's fine. I wouldn't dream of using it on the screen itself, though.
This thread title should really be "only use a lint-free micro-fibre cloth when cleaning TV or monitor screens".
You could argue that a picture of a TV on the packet means it should be safe anywhere on the TV, but I've just bought a bottle of motor engine oil with a picture of a car on the front, and I'm not just going to douse my car with the stuff.Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
