Samsung Monitor

I have a Samsung monitor (S22A350H) which came with a VGA cable. It has been working fine up until now. But now when I switch it on, it shows a box in the top left hand corner saying 'Analogue' and then has a box moving around the screen saying 'check signal cable...HDMI' I can't use the HDMI lead as there is no HDMI port on the computer . The menu button on the screen is totally unresponsive.

Does anyone know why it wants me to switch to a HDMI lead and why the VGA cable has suddenly stopped working?

    No connection at monitor broken vga cable or no output from video card .

    It could be something as simple as a faulty VGA cable. So try the monitor on another computer with a VGA port before trying to diagnose graphic cards.

    Have you tried cycling the inputs on the monitor (by pressing the Input button)? It might just not be set to VGA.
