Hi all,
Just got a new laptop - Lenovo G510, i7 4700, 12gb ram, 500gb SSD, fresh install of 8.1 and all updated with latest Windows/lenovo drivers.
Everything runs great, fast and I'm 95% happy except for one reallly annoying thing that I've spent hours trying to get a solution for = the touchpad.
When I scroll down on the touchpad... it...the page/screen scrolls up!
I'm talking about the right side edge of touchpad using one finger.
On every other laptop I've had there's been a setting where I can check/uncheck a scrolling option so I can set it the way I want - but this Lenovo uses Synaptics Touchpad v7.5 drivers and I can't find any such setting on the One Finger scrolling tab.

I've uninstalled the drivers to just use windows drivers but that gives no options, no scrolling and a jerky cursor = no good.
I've tried the Synaptics W7 drivers and it's just the same as the current 8.1 drivers.
On the Lenovo website drivers page there's 3 drivers: W7, W8 and W8.1 - I've tried them all.
I'm lost! I can't find any way to do such a simple thing...all I want to be able to do is scroll down like I have done for years and years and see the page scroll down in the same direction!
I've posted this on another forum too and not had a solution as yet, emailed Lenovo support and no reply as yet either.
I know it's only a trivial thing and I should and could get used to it eventually...but I don't want to - my OCD won't let me
- I want to set this up exactly how I've set up every other laptop I've ever used.
Oh and yes I have googled and googled and googled!
I've looked at many solutions for others with similar/same problem but they all seem to point to Elan/Elantech drivers but this G510 laptop only uses the Synaptics.
Am I stuck with it? I'd be very thankful if someone can think of any hack/workaround/solution, cheers :money:

Looks like there's a response on here (I assume this is your other thread):-

Post 5 looks like the one you'll need.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Thanks for your response.
Yep that's the one when I first posted.
Tried that solution suggested but seem it only applies to Elan drivers.
That solution works for my Packard Bell laptop but there's no such screens/settings in the Synaptics software.0 -
Just found this as well:-
http://hmemcpy.com/2013/12/how-to-change-two-finger-scroll-direction-in-synaptics-touchpad/
It's for Lenovo Luxpad V8.1
This one is for Lenovo Touchpad V7.5

The second-to-last post sems to work.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Thanks again for searching - that setting for two finger/multi touch does work - but it doesn't change anything re the one-finger scrolling action....I do have my very own one finger action for Lenovo/Synaptics...but I'll leave that to the imagination....
I've actually been searching for drivers/software/solution to this for a couple of months now and think I'm just going to have to accept that Lenovo/Synaptics/Windows 8 (not sure who to blame?) have just done away with the option.
Which is a shame as the laptop in every other respect is brilliant, but I just can't get used to this opposite way of scrolling so I think the laptop is going to find a new owner/home and I'll get one that works the same way as every other laptop I've ever owned works = properly!
:rotfl:
Edit to add: I know I should have probably done this ages ago but I've posted my problem on Lenovo community forums now...if they can't solve it then I'll be giving up with this laptop.
