I'm talking off the top of my head here and I realise the thread is about done but there may even be insurance implications here, ie, again if valuables are left in there it may be perceived to be more secure is solid built.
Yes you or I could make either equally secure, but..................
maybe, although 90% of detached houses I've worked on in the last 10+ years have been timber frame with various claddings, insurance companies are more than happy with timber frame wall construction, the weak security points are the same as every construction, windows and doors...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. take it back to brick, frame it out on the inside and install solid insulation such as Kingspan. Then plasterboard. Make sure there is adequate ventilation to the new void space. <EDIT - sorry didnt realise this wasnt built yet. but same principal would apply)GC Jan £431.490/£480.00  £48.51 under budget!0

But we weren't talking cladding at the stage I commented.
The point was that if it looks wooden it will be seen as a glorified shed.
Timber framed homes are a whole different bag, but 90%?, maybe you only work in 1 off high value or self builds?
The majority by far are still conventional construction.
Not taking a pop at all, it's just a simple observationI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
