Provident removed from my Credit report with money still owed?

Hi guys,

I have a query which I hope could be answered.

I (foolishly) borrowed a chunk of money from Provident Personal Credit about 2-3 years ago and I am currently still paying weekly to an agent. However, when I sign into my Experian credit report, the account is no longer listed.

What I want to know is - why is this?

The agreed duration of the loan has ended but I hadn't been continually paying my loan off, hence why I'm still paying. Is this maybe why? (Although my older, settled accounts are listed.)

I have paid back the amount I borrowed but I've still a bit of interest to pay back.

I have also received letters warning of default and demanding large sums, although because I am still paying it off they have never followed through.

It just seems a bit odd to me.

Kinda hoping I don't have to pay any more?

I look forward to your replies.

Thanks in advance.

Stephen.

Could have been sold on, and it may shortly reappear under the buyer's name.

    Hi Steeki-Lowry

As Fermi has said it seems likely that Provident have passed this to a debt collection agency, or is in the process of doing so.

If this is the case then the debt could re-appear on your report under the name of the agency it has been sold to.

You may want to check with Provident to see if they have indeed sold it.

  • Well if they sold the debt on, why would they still be taking payments from me??

It hasn't appeared on my file for a while though. I will have to take this up with them.

    Cheers for the help.
