Prices are clearly going up with the next gen games.
Hopefully they'll drop, but if not, what's the most you would pay for a game?
£55? £60? £70?

Personally, I won't spend any more than £35 on a game, but Im happy to wait for it to be second-hand or cheaper.
The exception to that is when I want a sports sim.
I only get one every 4 or 5 editions and pay full price, committing to not getting the next few versions.0 -

I built a new PC for halflife 2, so ended up costing me £1200ish.
Likewise, Gears of War sold me my 360.
Assuming I have the platform...I could see myself spending, maybe, £60 if it was a *must have*, total game changer etc - without hardware. Would pay more if it included additional hardware.0 -

Why would you need to build a computer for a game?
Would a store bought one not do the same job?0 -

I could have bought one from a store - and paid something like 60% more, but I don't know why I'd do that.
In fairness, the computer also did for my masters' degree, so there was another reason for getting it...but (aside from some genetic algorithms I wrote) it was only really the gaming that required the spec I built.0 -

That all makes sense I guess. Glad it worked out.0 -

£50 is about the standard price now and quite often it's over that for a new game so I guess I regularly pay between that and £60 per game. If including any DLC (including day 1 DLC) it works out a bit more. I've received collectors editions of games as gifts before which are often much more though they are lovely if you're a big fan of that particular series.I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! TBH you really don't need to "know what you're doing" these days...you head over to the techie forum, tell them your budget...they'll tell you which bits to order and then you just stick it together when it arrives. No subtlety to building PCs these days...you just stick the plug that fits into each socket and off you go.
