    Ive been to 2 funerals this year, one was a friends husband and the other an uncle.


    I didn't take flowers to either funeral but I did send the 2 widows a basket of flowers. I chose bright, colourful ones which looked nothing like the traditional white/mauve funeral sprays.


    Both widows told me that they were very pleased with them. It was a thought for the ladies left behind rather than the deceased and this way they had them in the house a few days before the funeral and so they were not thought of as 'funeral flowers'.
  • Wait until after the funeral if you are not informed of the charity before. Often the order of service will state a favourite charity, or details of charities that are dear to the person will come up during the service
