hi there i've just had 3 auctions finish, all items sold.
I first placed the listings 10 days ago i have still not received confirmation through email about my listings, also now the auctions have finished i have not received details of whether the items have been purchased or not.
Having kept an eye on the listings i know they all sold and have all been paid for
Anyone know what happening with ebay email?

I had an isolated problem on Sunday due to it being 10 days after the 5p listing days and overstretched, however I haven't had any problems since.
Is there any chance your ebay emails are being filtered as 'spam' suddenly, especially if you are on AOL?

yes thats possible as i am using AOL mail, when i sent the buyers the invoice and copied it to myself i received it through AOL mail though and thats from aw-ebay email address??
i'm a little confussed, i'm not bothered but i just worry as i had my account hijacked before and it was the email address they changed first and i had enough time to regain control of my account before they could muck with the passwords, these hackers/hijackers are always thinking of new ways to steal an accountRunning total for swagbucks - £270 since Jan

OK dragonfly, firstly, if there is any chance at all you might have compromised your account then see if you can still safely log in and if you can change your password immediately, just in case. It never hurts to be over cautious.
As for the aol spam filter this is a well known problem and is discussed periodically on the main ebay user boards. For a while many users, myself included, asked aol users to note when bidding that we were aware that our mail was not going to be received by them so they would need to manually process any wins and not wait for invoices or emails from the sellers.
It seems that every now and then aol have a hissy fit and block anything from ebay, there seems to be no easy answer to resolve this. Even though I have been managing to get aol mail through recently I always double send everything to aol users and remove all mention of ebay even including removing the item number.
As long as you are aware of the situation it shouldn't cause you any problems except for the outside chance that a buyer is waiting on a response from you on some matter or other and doesn't know you haven't got the email.

EBay and AOL are just not compatible. I have just left AOL and life is now a breeze.
Struggled to get e-mails out to clients AOL bounced it. Resulted in a few negs for not contacting buyers. Can be very frustrating.0 -

I think the most frustrating part of the whole AOL and ebay thing is that it is random, so you are never quite sure if your mail is getting through or not.
A colleague at work had similair problems, picking up a couple of neutrals for poor communications when she just hadn't got any of the emails. It can be hard enough dealing with ebay let alone having problems with emails going astray as well.

Instead of having to leave AOL completely couldnt you open a hotmail or fsmail email account just for your ebay stuff?
I used my fsmail account for paypal and saves getting all the receipts etc into my main email account...0 -

It didn't work for my colleague as it just picked up the fact that the underlying ISP was AOL. I'm sure there are some clever techie people who can work out a way round this.
