Was wondering if someone can advise.

My father and my uncle owned a freehold property as "tenants in common" with equal shares.

My uncle recently died and left no will and had no children. I know under tenants in common his share doesn't automatically go to my father - but is there a possibility my father can still inherit his share? The only other family is another brother and sister.

If there was no will and no children then the rules of intestacy kick in.

From what you say, the uncle's share will be split between the remaining brothers and sister.

This will mean that your father will own 2/3 (his 50% plus one third of the uncle's share) and brother and sister a sixth each.

If there is more in the estate then that could be used to buy out the other.(topping up as needed).

Read up on intestate and obtaining the grant to administer the estate.
