Is it possible to buy already assembled furniture?

For the first time in our lives we are moving in to unfirnished flat and therefore need to buy loads of furniture.

The last time we've bought the computer desk from Argos it took me quiet some time to assemble it.

All I want is to buy a ready to use furniture.

Are there any retailers who sell a furniture like that and can deliver it to our new place?

I know Oakland Furniture do this.

Caveat - I've never used them, and have no idea as to their quality or prices !! They may be brilliant, they may be carp.

But in a lot of towns you'll also find independents, these can often offer very good value for money. For instance, there's one near me that buys old furniture, restores it and sells it on. It's always fantastic quality, the girl who runs it really knows what she's doing. And the prices are very good. Try googling to see what's available in your area.

The Argos/Hombase Strand bedroom furniture is ready assembled and good quality. Wait until they have a sale on as it is expensive otherwise:

Hi , you don't say what your budget is or what you are looking for ie wardrobes , bookcases or tables .
We have had many a tussle with flat pack furniture over the years and found some to be easier than others.
Ready built will come in at more expensive but a lot of companies will provide an assembly service for an additional fee , Ikea offer this and I think M&S and John Lewis as well . If you buy from smaller local retailers they may offer this too.
One of my colleagues got a load of flat pack furniture from Ikea and paid someone to assemble it all .
You mentioned you were moving into a flat so you need to be sure you can get ready assembled furniture in via stairways if applicable.
We have had a flat pack wardrobe from Argos which turned into an eight hour nightmare but since then have bought three different Julian Bowen flat pack wardrobes and they have been pretty easy to deal with .
    Good Luck

Another thought occurs to me; if it's just the actual assembly that you're worried about, you may well find there's a local handyman / odd-job man who could assemble it for you. You'd probably save a fair amount of money overall by buying flat-pack, even after paying someone to assemble it.

Ask friends / neighbours, or post on a local community Facebook page if you have one, to get recommendations.

This - after the nightmare wardrobe we looked all over for ready assembled but some of the prices were very expensive and to be honest the range was nowhere as good which was why we opted for flat pack again .
If you need a fair bit of stuff then it will be expensive and pretty time consuming to get all of it ready assembled

Thanks, Paddy, saved me the job of posting the obvious.

Not only is it ready assembled, it's better quality, will last longer and be far cheaper.

I've moved recently, and whilst it's definitely possible to buy pre-assembled furniture, you'll pay a premium for it. It's often better quality though, because it's rare to find something ready made out of MDF or Chipboard.

As noted from the others, charity shop will probably provide you with some fantastic solid furniture at a very low price. Failing that, it's probably still cheaper to buy lots of flat packs then hire a handyman (or rope in some family) to build it all, rather than buying solid new.
