Not Being Charged For Electricity
I moved in to a new home just under 2 months ago.
Electricity is FREE!
We've heard nothing whatsoever from whomever is currently responsible for providing electricity here.
As a tight, money saving fan, my usually strict moral code is being questioned by my tight wallet code.
Wondering about saving in an ISA the approx amount I calculate it would have cost thus far - and see what happens... but we'll almost certainly get a bill at some point and I doubt it will be with the best tariff we can get at the moment.
Thoughts?

Its not free you are deemed in contract .
You should contact them as you are now on the standard tariff .0 -
New Build? - The developer must tell you who your supplier is.
Else, you should ask (have asked) the previous owner(s).

You will get a bill and it will be at the most expensive "standard" tariff the supplier has, so far from this lack of action saving you money, it's going to cost you a small fortune.
You will owe standing charges from the date you moved in plus the consumption registered on the meter. If you didn't take readings upon moving in, then you may well end up bearing the cost of all the units registered on the meter, including those used by the builders.0 -
I am guessing this is a wind up. Why would anybody not want to get the best energy deal for their usage pattern that is available?0

+1 for a wind up0

OP will be with the same supplier as his next door neighbours, all these new builds the developer does a deal with a single supplier, prob with some sort of kick-back involved. I suspect a wind up0

its sometimes worth keeping quiet my mate went 24th mths without a bill for electric and when he finally did get a bill he only paid back the last 12mths (back billing).
He did put the money aside each month though!0 -

Not a wind up. I'm guessing you didn't understand the initial post. I am not being charged for electricity _at all_
It's not a new build.
I know some people, very well, who've moved in to a house, used a utility without ever receiving a bill, and moved out some years later - still no bill. In fact I know two of them - unrelated properties. One gas one electric.0 -

There is such a thing as The Theft Act 1968.0
