Hello
For around the last two weeks now I have been receiving lots of completely random spam. They are coming in thick and fast now and blocking up my Inbox.
As the content is random verse I can't see how any spam trap would filter them? Indeed my SpamAssasin filter isn't catching them. The sender address and title of the e-mails are always different so I have no idea how to block them. Any ideas?
Here is a little preview so you can see what I mean:

Yep, I was plagued by this a few months ago. I used to get dozens every day but now I only get two or three.
When I had to go on dial up on the other computer (long story), I was targeted heavily and each time I logged into OE there were 585 emails coming in. Trouble is I had to read each title because some of my work emails are labelled *spam* by my system so I had to be careful not to delete them.
It's very annoying but not much that can be done as the spammers are using every trick to excape detection. :rolleyes:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Hello
Thanks for your reply. I just can't understand whats in it for this particular spammer.
The e-mails have no links in them to other web pages. There are no products mentioned and nothing being advertised. Its not religious or advice either. Its just plain garbage!0 -
Check if your ISP(s)/email provider(s) has its own spam filter. One of my ISPs (PlusNet) provides an excellent spam filter - it automatically moves anything dodgy to a spam folder, & it's almost perfect (takes care of the gibberish emails too).
To avoid my OE inbox getting inundated, I use Mailwasher to easily delete spam emails (belonging to the other ISPs/email providers) off the servers before downloading into OE. The last free multiple accounts MW version: 2beta28 - the latest free version supports one email account only. G
P.S. If you use MW do not use its 'bounce' feature as it's absolutely useless for a number of reasons, & unnecessarily creates more spam/email traffic.0 -

I think some spammers do this thing just for the hell of it. Childishness is everywhere, I'm afraid.
