Bailiff chasing my wife despite debt being settled

I can see Coupon-mad's point, and I share his frustration
Coupon-mad's main frustration might be the assumption that she is a 'he'. :rotfl:Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Received this e-mail from the Council. Please be advised that after further investigation the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) AA23456789 has been cancelled and the bailiff from Rosendale's has been instructed today to return the Warrant of Control. The case is now closed and no further action will be taken.
This was in the form of a PDF, complete with headers, footers and complete details of the PCN in boxed format above it.
In the e-mail that it was attached to was the following note.Dear Mrs **********
Thank you for your email.
Please see cancellation letter attached. There are no carbon copies available as the Council does not use this form of correspondence. Rossendale’s have been instructed via their Client Web which is not available to the motorist for perusal.
Kind regards
Also, got (verbal) confirmation from the bailiff when I phoned him that the case was closed. This was after Rossendales refused to speak to me in my wife's absence as I was not the named person on the Notice.
I call it a win, but it's a pyrrhic victory that should have been avoided by being dealt with properly in the first place.0 -
You might still consider a complaint to the Local Government Ombudsman. Except you're probably sick and tired of it all by now.Je suis Charlie.0

You hit the nail on the head there.
On the one hand, I want payback for what I have been put through. On the other I just want to get on with my life.0
