Buyer requesting item sent to another address

Hi All,

I think I know the answer but just wanted to check.

We have sold an item (£10) buyer has paid through paypal. Address is down as confirmed. However, after paying buyer has sent an email, direct to me not through ebay, requesting I send the item to a different person at a different address.

I'm just a little worried buyer will say item not received and I've got no comeback as I've sent it to the 'wrong address'.

Any advice.

Thanks

  • Only ever post to the address supplied by PayPal (not eBay)

However, if you plan to send the item without tracking, you can send it to any address.

If the buyer claims INR, you will lose without tracking anyway.

If you are sending tracked, you need to refund the buyer, ask them to change their address on PayPal and pay again.

I think what you have to do is ask them to add that address to paypal but not sure if, as they have paid already, they would now be able to select that address to have the item sent to.

I'd be concerned that they didn't contact you through ebay before they paid.

    £10. :o

For £10 get a free certificate of posting and claim if the item goes missing.

    Read the sticky on postage.

I have never been contacted before someone pays about sending to a new address. The usual reason is either that they paid and realised they hadn't amended the address and it was too late to do so, or they couldn't work out how to do it and thought it would be OK to just send a note after payment.

For small amounts I tend to just send it.
