Used United Airlines to fly to Lima,Peru via Houston on 1st Sept and my case was delayed till the 3rd Sept when I was woke at 1 am to sign for it. Later that morning I realised the case was damaged and contacted the airline but they didn't reply until I had emailed them twice more and then contacted them through Better Business Bureau which trading standards put me onto. My problem is that they have offered me $100 travel voucher but that wont replace my grand daughters case and as I have told them as a 70 year old I rarely travel anywhere and this trip was a once in a lifetime trip to visit my grandson and not likely to be travelling anywhere soon but they say that that is their policy and there is nothing else they can do about.
Anyone any ideas if there is any one else I can contact that can help please.

I'm an experienced traveller and only twice in all my years has my luggage been damaged in transit - both times with United.
To be fair, they sorted things out very quickly both times. First time, they gave us a brand new case at the airport. Second time, they sent us a brand new replacement by courier with a couple of days.
I don't see why they can't simply send you a replacement. Keep pestering them!

Yeah keep on with United, my flight was cancelled for 24 hours & I fought forever with them to get $300 each to spend on another of their flights, which I declined. I never did get anything from them. Good luck!
