I haven't read all the details on this thread, but on the odd occasion that I haven't been supplied with an annual tax statement by a bank, investment platform etc a quick letter with a reminder of their duties under ITA07/S975 soon produces one.
I've been investigated by the taxman once and having all the relevant tax statements to hand rather than presenting scrappy spreadsheets helped.0
