Credit card 'safety net'

Hi

I was wondering about how it is often said when you pay with credit card you have added protection from the bank.

What happens if you pay off that credit card bill? Do you still have that protection or because you've paid the bill they can wipe their hands of it as it is no longer their money being used?

Thanks

Any protection you may* have, ie chargeback and section 75, continues after you've paid the bill.

Yes, as above, it continues whether you've paid it off or not.

and not paying off in full will start to generate interest after the payment date....so spending on a credit card, and paying in full, is good practice.
  • Below are the points to remember while using credit cards.
    • Never give your credit card to anyone because in your absense card can be cloned.
    • Important information like name of the card holder,CVV number and expiry date are written on the card. So somebody can do online transaction by capturing your details.
