Credit File and Arrangement to Pay

Hi All,

As mentioned in a previous post (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5070126), I was on a DMP with Payplan between 2005-2011, with all debts being settled and satisfied in Feb 2011.

How long does an Arrangement to Pay stay on your Credit File, please?

Cheers!

Ok, I did some digging (should've done that first before posting, sorry mods!) and I can see that:

If the accounts with the AP against them remain open/active, the AP notices should drop off after 3 years or so?

If the accounts are closed at the time of settling, then, depending on the CRA, the AP will stay on file for the following amounts of time since date of settlement:

    CallCredit - 3yrs
    Equifax - 4yrs
    Experian - 6yrs

Is this correct? If it is, then something is wrong with my CallCredit account, as this still shows APs on my Noddle report. Should I speak to Noddle about those, or my former creditors?

6 years after account closure if not defaulted before that, not sure where you are getting the other figures from?

    interesting hadnt seen that before.

However i think that may only apply if the account hasnt been closed while in AP, as accounts stay on file for 6 years so if the last status is arrangement to pay then it will be there for 6 years,

Its only disappears if you have been paying the contracted amounts for the period you mention after an AP

someone else may be better placed to advise though

I think the AR markers are the most damaging markers that can be put on your credit file I was force in to 12 plus years arrangment and it will be reported for 18 years

Then you could get a CCJ instead. Which will merely extend the pain for even longer.
