Timber Frame - another house buying disaster

The construction is arguably one of the best so no concern there.
Thanks, that's actually very reassuring
I had a bit of a breakthrough today. I went back to wander around the area for 30 minutes or so (I've done this a few times and you never really see anyone or hear anything over that way). There was someone in the house next door, I did knock to try to find out if they were the owner or not but they didn't answer. But the lights were on and they were in there doing something (and the skylight was closed). I also noticed the light on in the house at the very end of the road, so it's perhaps only the one house unoccupied after all. Good news all round really.
I hadn't had a survey done (thinking it was brick and block and not seeing anything to concern me), so I'm going to look into this tomorrow and try to get one ASAP.
A friend of the family who used to be in the construction industry said timber frame is fine, so long as the membranes are intact it should be okay. The only problem is that I'm not sure how anyone could tell that without removing sections of wall to check, but it's looking a bit better now, at least.0
