advice about neighbours dogs

hi all im after some advice about my neighbours dogs
i live in a terrace of 3 cottages my neighbours to the right have 3 german shepard dogs
a few years ago one of them got hold of my youngest son who has special needs (he was round the back of our house) and they scratched his bum so hard it ripped right through his joggers and his pants my son was about 7 at the time he is now 11 i did nothing about it and they but a gate up around the front so as the dogs could not escape then 3 years ago my neighbours at the time on the left of me had 2 jack russell dogs and one of them came through our garden and in the dogs garden on the right and the 3 german shepard dogs killed the jack russell dog again nothing was done about it.
then on sunday night another neighbour was talking to my neighbour on the right (the ones with the german shepards) he had his arm resting on the gate and one of the dogs jumped up and bit him quite badly on his arm he has had to go to hospital twice because it has been bleeding.
my question is should i report them to the rspca as i am scared one day they are going to do something worse.
my special needs son is now petrified of dogs and my horrible neighbours will sit out the front on purpose when they know how scared he is of them and let them bark at my son my ds is never left unsupervised because he has special needs.
if i report them then they are going to make my life hell but it could be too late when they have attacked somebody so i dont know what to do
can i do it annonimously?
any advice is greatly appreciated
sorry for the long post

Hi Sammy
let's just summarise first.
The 3 dogs have already attacked your son, they have killed another dog, and caused fairly serious injuries to a neighbour.
they allow their unstable dogs to terrorise your little son, and appear to relish it? Am I right so far?
Contact the dog warden department at your local council without delay.
Maybe someone with more knowledge than me will come and offer better advice? Whatever, you must take some action, and soon.
This is unacceptable, and I'm sorry you are all suffering. Good luck, keep us posted.0 -
I agree - you need to log this with the council straight away those dogs don't sund safe and the neighbours sound as if they are too irresponsible to look after them.0

I agree with Andy.
Speak to your council about the dogs. Or speak to the police.
Unfortunately the neighbor who has recently been bitten will have to complain in order for action to be taken.
But they have to be reported.
It is highly irresponsible for those owners to have dogs and not have any control over them. I firmly believe that any dog who bites without provocation should be destroyed. And yes I am a dog lover, I was brought up with Rotweillers and German Shepard's, so I have nothing against dogs. Just against owners who allow their dogs to aggressive.
If they are doing it time and time again then the time will come when there is an incident that results in serious injuries.
Godo luck I hope you get it sorted out without any nastyness.0 -
Strewth! The dogs need re-training and the owners need locking up! Please contact someone in authority before it is too late :eek:0

Yes, I'm afraid unstable dogs should not be around anyone, especially small people. Would the special needs your son has affect his behaviour with the dogs? Or conversely, could the dogs' behaviour affect or heighten his needs? I'm concerned in case he is in any extra danger.0

Yep, you need to do something before the dogs end up causing more injuries.
Trouble is, you reall need the other neighbours (the ones who owned the Jack Russell and the one who has been bitten - are they the same person?) to back you up.
I think otherwise, as it was so long ago your son was attacked, they could argue the dogs are restrained and not a problem. Then again, it should be obvious to anyone who goes to check the dogs out that they're aggressive!
I know it will cause ill-feeling but tbh, it isn't them who should be getting indignant - they're damn lucky they haven't been reported before now!0 -

I know you are nervous about doing that.
But they will carry on, these are not isolated incidents. One day they may kill a child & I know you would never forgive yourself that something hadn;t been done.
Speak to the police, perhaps they can keep you out of the picture, or perhaps three of you (that have so far been affected) & perhaps others could join together against these bullies.
If it does become known & they bother you in any way, call the police EVERYTIME. They will learn.
I would have brought the full weight of the law down on them after the dog hurt my child the first time, if my hubby hadn't dealt with it.
Bullying scum. Make their life as hard as they make yours, but do it offically:D0 -
sammy, we crossed posts.
This is an awful situation for you as you sound very scared. Do you live alone? Your neighbours sound horrendous people for you to be that timid.
But you know you have to keep your little son safe from the dogs. Ring your council, they should be in the phone book in a separate section and there should be a number for the dog warden. Why not ring and ask his (or her) advice without identifying yourself, just for starters?
Keep us posted on here, I'm hoping someone with expert knowledge will come along soon.0
