Whilst she has my sympathies, for a press agency to have spoken to the DM, she must have spoken to the press agency?! No smoke without fire...0

seems she's now going to take legal action
yay - more pizzas and vimto for her0 -
If your on the dole / Job seekers / disability or something like that ... if someone writes a newpaper article about you and quote you as saying you're winning £10k a year in competitions, would this count as an income and maybe disqualify from you from receiving such benefits?
I don't necessarily mean in this case, I mean just generally.0 -
Prizes are not classed as taxable income - daily hate readers are never aware of this.0

Maybe she needs to win a session with a career coach?! :rotfl:0

I can't help thinking she will have signed something with the press agency allowing for this. These companies must get a lot of belated remorse for ever speaking to them, they will have this covered.0

If you win cash it should be taken into account for any means tested benefit where capital is considered but generally there is no tax to pay just for receiving the prize.
(main exception is where a prize is paid over several years like some of the lotto scratchcards, the first years payment is tax free after that it is taxable income).0 -

Oh, I thought she looked familiar! I like her FB page, it's very informative. I feel sorry for her, I would hate to be featured on that trash rag without my permission.0 -

She sold her story in the first place and depending on the release she signed can have no complaints about where it ends up
