Parking Query regarding OPC

Hello all

I have looked on this forum to see if there was a relevant thread relating to this query but it appears there wasn't.

On Saturday morning I went to my local football stadium to help out with a display that was meant for the match later on the day. I was told beforehand that we were allowed to park at the stadium by the club officials. I turned up at the club and was directed by a steward to park along the road by some garages that belonged to private residents that backed on to the stadium.

I was gone from my vehicle for roughly 80 miutes and on my return I found a ticket stuck to the windowscreen saying I owe OPC (who were working on behalf of the local council) a £100 fine due to parking in an undesignated area. I was only made aware of the sign once I had received the ticket.

They have yet to contact me regarding paying the fine and in the mean time I have contacted the club to see their personal view on the matter.

Do I have to pay the ticket?

If OPC is working for the local council I'm a Dutchman. Who told you that and did they put it in writing?

Otherwise your case is no different to thousands of others here. Read the Newbies sticky.

OK so you have a bog standard OPC fake PCN? OPC do NOT act for Councils! So just wait for the NTK like the 'Newbies read this first' sticky thread tells you. Use the Forum Jump to get to page one of the parking forum & the Newbies thread is 2nd from top.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
