hi sorry if this has been answered before. I've been a named driver on my mums car insurance for two years and we are looking to put the insurance in my name, as I drive the more now. I went on compare the market filled out all the details and it asked if I had any NCB, I said no but it asked if I had any named driver experience, one of the options was named driver on another car, but as its the same car can I put that I have two or as its the same car does it not count

Do dummy quotes first of all using slightly altered details and see if having 0 or 2 years as a ND makes any difference to the prices of the insurers you are considering going to and this includes clicking through to the broker/ insurer to ensure its not showing up as NCD.
If its being translated correct and not being mistaken for NCD then I doubt it will make much difference with many insurers and so it will probably be a mute point anyway. If it does then contact that company before buying and ensure they are comfortable with it being the same vehicle0 -

Off topic - sorry, OP.
My favourite football forum has a "malapropisms" thread, dedicated to mute points, damp squids and escape goats.

If the only change is that you're driving more (it's still your mum's car) then get her to change her policy to show you as the main driver.0
