making your own web site

I would like to have a go at making my own website, something informative about cooking. a basic step by step guide to creating good food from recipes ive created myself.

As im a chef I have made lots of food and got a whole lot of ideas and tips etc that I would like to share. You never know where it might take me.

So im looking for a simple web creator software tool and a domain.

Any tips please how to get started, where to go for a domain thats not going to cost me an arm and a leg to host a web site.

At the end of the day it may well be out of my league and not give it another thought but if I knew where to start thats the best place to be.

Cheers.
All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

I take it you know zero about cretaing a web page

    Try here http://learn.wordpress.com/

    or here http://www.w3schools.com/html/

Don't jump into a website hosting site, first test out your ideas locally (i.e. on your own pc first)

but really it's easier to create recipes :rotfl:

  • Another vote for Wordpress.

As a very basic alternative I would mention Google sites and Google Blogs - you may find this will do everything you want.
