Faulty Starter Motor - Do I have to go back to the same garage for replacement?

Hi,
I had the starter motor of my Pug 206 replaced at a local garage yesterday at a cost of £200 (about £100 for motor, about £100 for labour). Though the garage were perfectly friendly I was not impressed with the time it took to do the job and quality of communication.
The garage advised me that the new (reconditioned) motor made "a slight noise when starting the engine, but nothing to worry about - and anyway it's under warantee for a year - all garages offer a 1 year warantee on all parts".
It turns out this slight noise is a little more severe - a loud squeal/scraping sound, the car is struggling to start and drawing on the battery to the point that my airbag warning lights come on as soon as the engine starts. (I have tried bump starting to test that this is to do with the motor - no warning lights).
Clearly the motor is faulty and the job needs redoing. I was already unimpressed with the quality of service provided and would rather take the car to a different garage where I can trust the job will be completed properly.
Any advice appreciated on how doing this would affect the warantee, including a refund on the labour costs?
Many thanks.

Of course if you can get them to agree to you getting it fixed elsewhere at their expense, then that too is good.0
