Quick Question on applying for a NatWest Overdraft

I would like to apply for a small overdraft just to have it there for emergencies only, but on my other banks bank accounts you can see if you are pre-approved for things like overdrafts within internet banking, but on NatWest internet banking there is nothing like that.

Can I ask in a NatWest branch if I am pre-approved for an overdraft ?.

You can ask in branch or via telephone banking (between 8am and 8pm).

    Alternatively you can apply online:

  • If you go through the application as you get to the end where you want to put in your overdraft limit request it will give you an amount that you will get accepted up to. Eg. You are likely to be accepted for a limit upto £250

If I put in say £100 and the system says I am eligible for say £1000, would I be more likely to be accepted for the £100 rather than be greedy and go for the £1000, as I assume they will still do further checks such as to see if I can afford it, or is it simply based on how I run the account ?.

    Thanks
