Mom parked the car here. The black car and got a PCN. Directly under a UKPS sign that says private and no parking. Is there any point in appealing? She wasn't thinking as it was packed with cars and when she got back, everyone got a ticket. There was no markings on the road at all.

Can't post image link due to new account. But this is the link if you put http:// in front.

Also the grace perid of 14 days is tomorrow. She just showed me the ticket.. sigh

  • Wait for the Notice to Keeper. Should come in 29 - 56 days. A NtK will give you more appeal points to fight the charge, and they may well stich themselves up with the wording on the NtK (that will help you).

In the meantime have a good read of the Newbies thread and winning UKPS appeals. This is an IPC one so the fight will be a bit tougher. Clearly the signage is shockingly poor.

You'll need a picture of the wording on the sign also - this is quite important in determining the angle of the appeal.

Alternatively parkingticketapppeals.org.uk will do it for you for £16 and guarantee to make the charge disappear.

The sign is poor but the car was parked directly under the sign...

These photos are taken from their website, I'll ask them to go tomorrow and take a clearer screenshot.

I'll take a look at parkingticketapppeals.org.uk, I rather pay the £16 if I don't get the stress and hassle of dealing with UKPS.

I'm reading the FAQ, but I wasn't so sure if this is the case as the car is parked directly under the sign...

Many thanks for your clear answer on this.
  • sorry to crash post but what does IPC mean? thank you

Google is your friend (if you add the word 'parking' for context), as is the Newbies sticky thread where I show all the acronyms already.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
