Options
HI all, we have a £5 max price gift for my sisters and brothers in law - however finding hard not to buy anything that just looks really naff! Anyone spotted any £5 bargains around this year. Got the £5 cookbooks on Amazon last year but not spotted anything so bargainous (is that a word?) this year. All ideas welcome

  • Not quite the same, but we have a £5 secret santa at work. I always do a "gift in a mug", cheap mug, personalise with sharpies, fill with coffee / hot choc sachets, a few "posh" chocolates, and a miniture baileys or whisky.

Wrap with cellophane and ribbon. They are always very well received.
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

    I second this idea.

TBH without knowing their ages it would be grasping at straws for us to give any more suggestions

Lots of DVDs you can pick up for £5 - I saw 'About Time' in Sainsburys today which I thought was a really good film.

They are all mid thirties age wise if that helps
  • Wilkinsons have a fruity bath range for a pound each, they look very nice, bubble baths, shower gel, soap, bath bombs, scrunchie thing, shampoo, conditioner, body scrubs. There are a few different scents and colours, that would be 4 items in a gift bag if you factod in the cost of the bag.

Savers have 3 Nails.Inc nail polish in a box for a fiver. They also havd a good selection of alcohol. There is a full size bottle of peach schnapps for a fiver, bottles of martini, babychams, wines, ginger wines, ports and 4 flavoured lagers for just 2 quid, they also sell many perfumes for a fiver and decent bubble baths and other toiletries.

I have the same £5 limit for secret santas and have bought a few towel cakes in the past. I think originally they were called 'Unreal Cakes' but there are loads of different ones available now. Basically they're a flannel wrapped up to resemble a cake, with either fake or soap fruit decorating the top:

    a sundae dish
    ice cream scoop

he will have to provide his own ice cream and bananas
