Bank reference query

hello
can you help please?
my potential future landlady wants to do a bank reference on me. this is going through. she has asked the bank if i can pay a certain amount a month. i can but i am nervous as my income is fairly low so it may not look as though i have the amount ON TOP of normal outgoings. this is because my rent over the last year or so has been coming from another source - my baby's father with whom i am now estranged and don't want knowing of my move to a new home. he and his family have been threatening me. so even though i am getting a new job and will be able to pay the new rent easily, my bank reference won't show the £1000 a month extra income that has been my rent of late.
my bank says they cannot release any specific info about amounts and incomings/outgoings, only that i have been a customer of theirs for 12 years, that i am not overdrawn and that i have no black marks against me. i want to know, is this true? and would this even be able to fulfil my potential future landlady's wishes of knowing if i can afford £700 a month?
i have never had a bank ref done on me and am a bit anxious.
best wishes

I would think that would be fine. She won't get any more than that in any case.0

Hi,
I had one of these done a year ago. I was overdrawn at the time and it came back fine. I've heard the bank don't comment on whether you can afford the rent or not.0 -
thank you x that helps. but i have this fear that that is the only thing she is after. the bare bones specifics of whether i can get 700 cpm to her and only from the mouth of the bank, not from my word or a guarantor. so even though it is good news what you've told me i fear i may now be having to be proving to her some other way!xxxx0

Can you get a reference from your current landlord, confirming that you have paid your rent on time and in full?0
