Extension Lead

Could I ask advice. Due to some work in my house I will have to use an extension lead to plug in my undercounter freezer but I will also have to use the same lead when using the microwave and a small mini oven. Will an everyday lead do or should I get something with surge protection or individual switches.

You need to check the rating on the extension lead.0

extension leads are 13a rated the freezer will be 3a microwave 10a min and the mini oven 10a min so you will need to look at what else you can do about it if long term
short term use dont use all together0 -

I opened one up the other day with a 5a fuse in. Explains why it failed with the iron plugged in.0 -
Does that mean I could use the microwave and the mini oven on the some extension as the freezer as long as it is not at the same time.Sorry to sound thick but anything to do with electrical stuff scares me.0

10A min for a microwave? even a 900W micro would only pull about 4A.....0 -

My 1000W microwave uses around 1.9kWh, around 8A. If I use it in combo mode with the 1100w grill on as well then !!!0

No, the 1100W is in addition to the microwave consumption.Gloomendoom wrote: »That's impressive! 2100w out and only 1900w in.0
