How can I improve my credit rating?

As you don't want a mortgage for a few years then if you need to make a largish purchase and then repay over a few months then that isn't likely to be a major issue on your credit file.
Ideally don't max the card out, and ideally pay more than the minimum every month and ensure you can pay off the full balance within the 19month period.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
For the love of everything holy, don't max the card out. Just put your normal spending on it and pay it off in full each month. If you have a big purchase coming up (and don't just decide to buy something just because we've said this) then you could put that on the card and pay £X to it each month to clear it before the 0% ends.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
ALWAYS HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT SET UP FOR THE MINIMUM PAYMENT ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU PLAN TO LOGIN AND PAY EACH MONTH.0
