I’ve just spent £100 on the bag for it to go in to be able to be checked in. The walker cost £600 and sadly a plastic bag would not protect it.

Keep your eye on it when you land as the last time we took Mr SA’s wheelchair an elderly couple grabbed it off the carousel without us knowing and used it to get to the coach park. It took the airport staff ages to locate it where it had been dumped 😞

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

An amateur idea but maybe wrapping lots of masking tape around it on which you've written 'Fragile! Beanie's. If lost or stolen please message xxx. Fragile!' repeated on it would be a good additional or make-do thing?

Can't believe that @Sun_Addict, my mum's phrase 'you're not too old for a smack' springs to mind 🤣

We’re taking his wheelchair this time and I’m going to buy a strap with his name on to go round it. We find wheelchairs and pushchairs go on a separate carousel to the cases so keep an eye on your walker.

Thanks. Yes, I had heard they went on a separate carousel. That will set my mother off no end. The other option would be to carry on my knee and then it could go into the plane with me and go in a cupboard but I’m not sure if I will be able to do that. I have heard of some people who have been able to do that.
I’m so stressed about it. If it gets damaged on the way out I’m absolutely screwed as I can’t walk without it.

Do they have mobility hire places where you're going Beanie? Might it be possible to hire one instead of taking yours? I quite understand the stress of travelling with it!

Unbelievable that they turned up so early 😡 I’d have been tempted to send them on their way until designated time….but I suppose they might not have returned.

Re the fragile notice……could you use a permanent marker to write on the material as that won’t come off.
