Funerals can be dire like that. Been to a few myself … it’s why I tried so hard to include something about every aspect of FiL’s life / everyone he knew, so they all felt ‘seen’.

And yes, that happening on top of my aunt, uncle and cat’s deaths in the last year means I am holding those I treasure in far more love and honour than before.

    Sending hugs x
    THank you. x
It was like they spoke of a man I diden't know due to prior family conflict.  In my opinion it should not have been referred to.  In fact to be honest my friend & I were shocked, horrified & saddened by it..
Ah … the revenge of the weak and petty.
I’m glad you had your friend to share genuine and true memories of him.

Yes, it meant a lot.  x

    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy

Hope this weekend is better and sorry to hear re the funeral and the dementia of a man you obviously respected...
I guess we all have different memories and experience with everyone - some people though seem unable to let go of their hurt or anger, surely at a funeral one would be respectful? Or just not turn up! Glad you have a coffee/gin catch up

    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
