Sorry to hear about the untimely loss of your gardener - it must have been a shock. The guy who does our (very) small garden (and lots of neighbours too) lost his wife last week. We were wondering why he didn’t turn up and it was a shock when we saw him on Monday when he told us. She had been a bit of a recluse for the last few years (more of a mental health issue, rather than a physical issue) but it was such a shock to hear of her unexpected heart attack. He was heartbroken, poor man. She wasn’t that old either.
Good luck with your floor quote. I would like to have laminated flooring, but my partner was vey much against it (I wasn’t too fussed either way) so we had a new carpet when we had our extension. I don’t mind though, as it looks good. Reminds me, there is a local guy who has a large industrial carpet cleaning machine and did a marvellous job for us a couple of years ago, so must get him in again. He was so much better than the other carpet cleaners we’ve had in the past. I think it’s the industrial machine he uses as it seems to be so much better than the others we’ve used. He parks his van on drives/streets and it’s so effective. He did my mum’s former ground floor flat, but couldn’t do the flats on the third floor as he couldn’t reach, much to my mum’s friend’s disappointment!

Luckily I only have myself to worry about so I am going with what I want. It's the same laminate as was laid in the sitting room just before COVID. It has proved to be amazing & very cat friendly.
The guy who did my capet recently has a big machine which worked well.
