- When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £232,244
- OPs to mortgage = £12,148 Interest saved £5,738 to date
Fixed rate 3.85% ends October 2030
Read 50 books of target 52 in 2025, as @ 13th September

We only have carpet on the stairs and landing for the same reason as you. It’s a lot better to keep clean. Rather than laminate would a decent vinyl suffice, might be a tad cheaper too.I remember the first time we watched Titanic was in Greece on a large screen outside. It’s a lovely film.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Will be interested in how much the bedroom is if you don't mind me asking. My rented place had a wood effect laminate everywhere and it was so nice to be able to quickly rush round with a broom rather than hoover.
I've been wondering what to do with my bedroom as although the carpet was cleaned it didn't come up really well, good enough but it will need replacing at some point.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

I am thinking about 1k. Will be interesting to see what the quote comes back at. Also bearing in mind they are also going to lift old carpet & disposal. Move furniture too.
