The 'official' name chaging contiues in the background.
Some has been easy & some not.
Some organisations total ineptitude just amazes me.
One financial organisation sent out two cards in old name.
One could not confirm the name change as I could not confirm the name as I did not know which name to use when I phoned them!

What a blooming palaver 🤬 They’re making it so much harder than it should be.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

The name change sounds a bit of a disaster...and stress you could well do without. Why do organisations make it so difficult. I honestly think they’re too big and get confuddled because they can’t cope with the sheer numbers. With all the technology around it should be easy but it isn’t the case 😲

They lost your original documents? That is awful. What are they going to do about it?If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

They are shambolic. Just dire.
I could cry. I know they are just bits of paper.

My birth certificate has been around for nearly 60 years after all!My first job was in the then Inland Revenue and Govt,DVLA and all record keepers were very keen on keeping everything on everybody. It wont necesserally be paper records now but whether DVLA are claiming to have lost your details or you've sent the paperwork you had to them there should be a copy. It's how the police can check if a licence is genuine, DVLA can contact older drivers when they reach an age when they need a retest and other matters.I'm not sure if you sent your licence etc to them for the name change and it's those you want back. No idea if they still do what they used to but they did invalidate and destroy licences in the past when details changed as a security measure.I can't recall the name but somewhere on the forum there's at least one part on driving and some quite knowledgable people there answer questions on driving related matters. Might be worth a look.I hope things become less stressful soon you seem to be dealing with idiots at the moment. I considered changing my name after the toxic ex was gone but with 2 children by my late first husband and two by him it was too complicated. I did consider going back to my maiden name but it would have meant three surnames under one roof and the two eldest were happy keeping their dads surname.pollyx

Just been reading back. If you haven't resolved the situation with the organisation who couldn't deal with the name change because you didn't know which name to use have you tried emailing them clearly stating your name with them and the one you want to be known as from now on? If you prefer you could send a letter.pollyIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
