I've been meaning to ask how you're getting on with the new laptop. Temporary replacement no3 developed the too dark to read screen issue again. I dropped it off before going into town to pick up youngest's meds last week and when I got back she'd altered the settings and it was fine again. One problem is she doesn't often explain how she did it, just says don't worry just bring it back if it needs sorting again.

I'm interested in how light or heavy your new one is. I thought my beloved dell was heavy but this one is very much heavier. I have a bad habit of putting it on my knees at times and it's not helping the arthritis and fibro.

I ordered a very cheap laptop tray a few weeks ago which is really good . I can use it in bed but it's too wide for my armchair which is across a corner with no room for the coffee table in front.

Hope your weather is ok. We've had early morning sun but very wet and windy later each day here on the coast. A friend in Borders has allsorts of weather.My spring bulbs are flowering and some trees are blossoming but it doesn't feel very Spring like.

My new laptop is very very much lighter than my old one.
The lid/screen particularly is way way lighter which I cant decide is good or bad.
Good I suppose unless I drop it.
It was bright but cold here today.

Not sure what type of laptop tray you got polly.
A friend got me a real cheapie one from Ikea & it's great.
I have it on my knee when watching TV & just lean forward to put it down on the coffee table when I need too.
I have a wee table at the side of me for my cup.

Thanks for the quick reply. I always keep mine in the well padded case when not in use and thankfully haven't dropped one yet.

There were a couple of laptops recommended when I posted a while ago. I looked them up and decided the one you chose seemed right for me. Can't remember if it was the Asus or one of the others.

I think we'll all be glad when it warms up a bit. The sun's nice but not the strong cold winds.Here's hoping it warms up soon.
