How do I find out who owns the house next door?

I am hopefully in the final stages of buying my first house. The house next door appears to be empty but it has an aerial hanging off its chimney. My builder is quite concerned that if there was strong wind, the dangling aerial could easily damage my roof. How do I find out who owns the property so that I can write to them an let them know that the aerial is loose and ask them to fix it?

First try the Land Registry? https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/land-registry

ask the council? someone must be paying the council tax

Letter through letter box? Owner may be collecting post weekly/monthly etc.

Letter by Royal Mail? Owner may have his post forwarded.

Land registry?

Neighbours the other side? Opposite?

Redirection would be for names. without a name it would be delivered to the house

A good point, but as already suggested the name can be found from the land registry.

If, as is common, the LR listed address is the property in question, then the RM redirection may work.

Someone MAY be paying the council tax.
